But in my opinion Alif Baa: An Introduction to Arabic Letters and Sounds is state -of- the- art-book in learning and teaching Arabic.., there is new edition(2012) take a look inside this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alif-Baa-Introduction-Al-Kitaab-Language/dp/1589016327 this book has different Arabic dialects too.
The dialect will enable you to communicate with native speaker of most Arab countries. When you get this book you will hear the proper pronounciation of the word "TUFADDUL" which Sir Arthur mentioned in page 8 (pdf) and actually pronounced wrong by the speaker. Go a head and discover the wealth of the Arabic language.
